February 18th: I feel the pressure to write today when this quiet, rain filled day begs for a more tranquil activity — a simple art project, a good book, a nap, or just some quiet time watching the world go by outside my window. Writing, while pleasurable, is still work and today I just don’t feel like working that hard. And I can’t seem to be on the computer without writing – this blog, a letter or text to someone, contributions to a few social/educational communities to which I belong — and my hand hurts. So today I will simply write a short gratitude list.
Today I am grateful for:
The quiet of the day.
The Valentine’s bouquet of tulips that I walk by several times a day. They are one of my simple joys and make me smile each and every time.
That I don’t have to cook something for tonight’s potluck book club; I found exactly what I wanted for our Vietnamese themed dinner at a local Vietnamese restaurant.
That there are no chores that absolutely have to be done today, or even this weekend, for that matter.
