May 14: My mom asked everyone at yesterday’s annual Mother’s Day brunch if they read my blog. For a moment I felt exposed, kind of like I do when I share a post on Facebook. Is the writing good or interesting enough, is it too personal, did I share something I shouldn’t have, surely people have better things to do with their time then read it. Then I felt uncomfortable and responded the way I usually do in these moments, with humor. I joked with them about being guilted into reading my blog. But I don’t give myself or my family enough credit. One of my cousins is a regular reader; she often likes or comments on the posts I share on Facebook. The others expressed genuine interest and asked to be added to the subscriber list. My mom is proud of me; I feel it when she tells me how she checks the blog every few days for updates and talks about her favorite entries.
Today I’m grateful for the unconditional love and support of my mom, aunt and sister cousins. And I confess, I’m secretly quite pleased that my mom is promoting my blog.

Ah, moms, our biggest fans. Lovely photo.
No matter how old we are, feeling our mother’s pride is always a big deal! I don’t know ANYONE else who expresses themselves as well as you do, both in the spoken and written word. I’ve always been in awe of this ability you have. It is a gift and one that I am glad you are sharing on your blog. ❤️❤️❤️
