Art Journaling Magazine

March 26: I am grateful for the magazine, Art Journaling, by Stampington & Company.  My fingers are drawn to the high quality paper and my mind is stimulated by the art journaling pages and the story and techniques of each of the featured artists.

I had some time to myself this afternoon and stopped to buy the latest issue at my local Barnes & Noble bookstore.  I walked across the parking lot to the Corner Bakery, picked up a cup of coffee and a chocolate chip cookie, and sat outside in the warmth of the afternoon sun and started the magazine.

Not all the work is appealing to me, but still I respect the effort and study the pages to learn about composition, color selection, and mixed media techniques.  I am grateful for the inspiration.  Art is a wonderful tool for pushing boundaries, shaking things loose, remembering the fun in learning, letting go of perfectionism, and learning that beautiful things can come from mistakes.  But some days its just hard.  When my creative spirit is frozen in place from doubt and judgement I reach for an issue of Art Journaling.  It always encourages me to continue the journey.
