February 3rd: Sometimes gratitude is a very intentional exercise of turning a negative into a positive. Sometimes gratitude is turning inward and reflecting on the basics, the things in our life we take for granted or do without any recognition of their importance. Nothing screams “write about me” today so I’m going to intentionally reflect on a moment of frustration.
My yoga class, which is really very basic, was hard today. My weakness and inflexibility make the poses difficult and uncomfortable and today it just seemed magnified. Perhaps because I haven’t been sleeping well. I struggled to stave off the frustration that comes from feeling my body will never improve. Instead of criticizing myself I should applaud myself. The gratitude is in showing up and doing my best.
